Gear shaping with PWP system or thrust ring

The Schwanog PWP system and Schwanog thrust rings are predestined for manufacturing gears

  • PWP system

Manufacturing gears with the PWP system is simple and efficient. Depending on the application, the tool design is possible with one or more finishing shaper and shaper teeth on one cutting edge. Due to the quick-change capability of the inserts and a high changeover accuracy, machining can usually be continued immediately after a tool change without having to set the tool again. Application possible on all machines with C axis.

  • Thrust rings

With the use of Schwanog thrust rings as broaching tools, manufacturing gears with one stroke represents an enormous time and cost saving. Prerequisite is a fixed or traveling broach holder (wobble, pendulum holder) or similar. Thrust rings (broaches) are not suitable from a material tensile strength > 1000 N/mm2. Limits are also given for the toothing depth and machine stability.

Keyway shaping with PWP system or pressure ring

  • PWP system

Keyways or high-precision grooves can be manufactured quickly and efficiently with the PWP system. Due to the quick-change capability of the inserts and a high changeover precision, machining can usually continue immediately after a tool change without the need for re-adjustment.

Special forms with a PWP system or thrust ring

  • PWP system

Thrust ring: Special forms can be produced with a single stroke using Schwanog thrust rings as a broaching tool. An enormous time and cost advantage. Prerequisite is a fixed or traveling broach holder (wobble holder, pendulum holder) or similar. Thrust rings (broaching tools) are not suitable for material tensile strength >1000 N/mm. There are also limits to the tooth depth and machine stability.
